Building on a longstanding record of solid leadership supporting the backbone of military communications, leaders of the Data Link Solutions (DLS) joint venture between BAE Systems and Rockwell Collins have signed an agreement to extend this successful relationship. A ceremonial signing took place at the Carnegie Library in Washington, D.C., to celebrate the agreement.

Data Link Solutions (DLS), a joint venture between Rockwell Collins and BAE Systems, has been awarded an $18.5 million contract by the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR) for production of Multifunctional Information Distribution System (MIDS) Low Volume Terminals (LVT) for U.S. and Coalition Forces. These MIDS-LVT terminals provide real-time data communications, situational awareness, navigation, and digital voice, all in a jam-resistant, crypto-secured package.

Rockwell Collins has been selected by Science Application International Corporation (SAIC) {NYSE:SAI} to provide its Sub-Net Relay (SNR) solution for the U.S. Navy fleet as part of the PEOC4I Battle Force Tactical Networking program. Rockwell Collins is the sole provider of SNR, a technology that makes it possible to establish mobile ad hoc, Internet-Protocol (IP) networks used for tactical data exchanges, enhanced situational awareness and collaborative planning utilizing existing communications systems onboard naval vessels today.

Rockwell Collins has been selected by the U.S. Army’s Communications-Electronics Research, Development and Engineering Center (CERDEC) to develop a new, soldier-worn, cross-domain solution to enhance communications security. The solution represents a technological advancement that will enable squadron leaders to exchange information with their soldiers who are not cleared for access to classified information, without the risk of compromising classified data.
