It's been another busy day at FIRST World Championship, with visitors from across the U.S. and other countries, including Mexico and China. Outside the exhibit area, teams are in competition and interviews with judges. Participants range in age from elementary students to high school seniors preparing for college.

Exhibit volunteers have had the opportunity to talk with several students about the types of careers they can find at Rockwell Collins, from software engineering to program management.

Tomorrow the excitement will continue as Kent Statler speaks at FTC closing ceremonies and announces the Rockwell Collins Innovation Award.

The volunteers manning the Rockwell Collins exhibit saw a steady stream of excited students dressed in wacky outfits throughout the day. Visitors put on glasses to experience our 3D displays technology and also learned about virtual prototype modeling. A few crafty students, coaches and parents carefully created jewelry out of transistors and other engineering components.

Elsewhere in the dome, Rockwell Collins-sponsored teams prepared for FIRST Tech Challenge and FIRST Robotics Challenge competitions. Each team marked their spot in the so-called "pits" with banners, their sponsors' logos and other decorations that matched the team's theme. While several sponsored teams are from Iowa, Rockwell Collins supported a team from India this year that's making its first appearance at the world championship.
